As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 8,734 people, 2,671 households, and 2,283 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 639.9/km (1,657.7/mi). There were 2,740 housing units at an average density of 200.7/km (520.1/mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.19% White, 1.28% African American, 0.08% Native American, 1.49% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.94% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.17% of the population.

There were 2,671 households out of which 46.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.7% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.5% were non-families. 11.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.26 and the average family size was 3.54.
